Quintarelli

Amarone della Valpolicella, Italy
Giuseppe Quintarelli's legendary Negrar estate — the 'Pope of Valpolicella' who produced Amarone of mythological complexity until his death in 2012, now continued by his daughter. Quintarelli's Amarone classico (released only after 8-10 years of aging in large old oak) is considered by many critics to be Italy's finest wine in its best vintages — of extraordinary aromatic complexity and longevity, with peak drinking at 25-40 years after harvest.
