The Louro family's Dão estate — one of the private producers who demonstrated the region's potential after the cooperative era ended. The estate's Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Encruzado whites from granite soils are considered Dão's benchmark wines for quality and consistency. Quinta dos Roques has been central to establishing Dão's reputation internationally as Portugal's most complex and mineral wine region.
