Reputation
The oldest continuously producing estate in the Santa Cruz Mountains — founded by Martin Ray in 1943 and home to some of California's oldest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines. Mount Eden's 'Old Vine Reserve' Chardonnay from estate vines planted in the 1940s–60s is California's most age-worthy Chardonnay, developing extraordinary complexity — mineral, reductive, and Burgundian in character — over 10–30 years. The estate also produces benchmark Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
