About this product
Tieguanyin (鐵觀音, Iron Goddess of Mercy) is the most celebrated tea of Anxi County, Fujian, and one of the Ten Famous Teas of China. The traditional roasted style (zhongbei cha) has roots in the Song dynasty and represents the historical expression of this cultivar before the lighter green Tieguanyin style emerged in the 1980s. Song Tea's charcoal-roasted selection uses a multi-month roasting process that transforms the tea: the characteristic orchid-floral aroma remains but is supplemented by warm roasted honey, dried apricot, and a clean, deep mineral finish. Longer-lived and more complex than the green style.
