Dr. Heger Achkarrer Schlossberg Grauburgunder Baden GG

Baden Wine Region, Germany
From the Kaiserstuhl's finest volcanic basalt terroir — the Achkarrer Schlossberg Großes Gewächs — this Grauburgunder achieves a depth and complexity rare for the variety. Fermented in Burgundy barrels, the wine opens with white peach, lemon beeswax, smoked almond, and volcanic mineral aromas. Full-bodied with a creamy, textured palate and a long, saline-mineral finish — Germany's answer to Alsace Grand Cru Pinot Gris.
complement
Baden's richest whites are at home with the Rhine's own crayfish — the wine's volcanic mineral depth and textural richness mirror the bisque's body

complement
Grauburgunder's weight and texture support the firm richness of monkfish; the volcanic mineral note echoes the capers' brininess
