Chateau Mukhrani Shavkapito Kartli PDO

Kartli Wine Region, Georgia
From the near-extinct indigenous Shavkapito variety — rescued from oblivion by Chateau Mukhrani's vine collection programme — this is one of Georgia's rarest red wines. Translucent ruby with a unique aromatic profile: cherry, pomegranate, dried rose, and a distinctive peppery-herbal note unlike any other variety. The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins and a long, mineral finish — Kartli's answer to Pinot Noir.

Georgia's most celebrated spring dish — lamb with tarragon and sour plum sauce — with Kartli's finest red: the wine's cherry-pomegranate and herb character mirrors the stew's herb-dominated freshness

Shavkapito's pomegranate and herb notes are calibrated for Georgia's most universal meat preparation — the wood-grilled skewers with sour condiments that appear at every feast
