Nikka From The Barrel

Nikka From The Barrel is Japan's most critically acclaimed blended whisky and arguably the world's best value whisky per point of quality. It is a blend of Miyagikyo pot still malt, Miyagikyo Coffey malt, Miyagikyo Coffey grain, and Yoichi malt — re-blended and re-casked for a period ('marriage') before bottling at a cask-strength-adjacent 51.4% ABV. The high bottling strength is the key: it preserves aromatic intensity and a texture (mouth-coating, almost oily) that 40-43% whiskies cannot achieve. Rated 97/100 by Whisky Advocate and regularly appears on 'Best Whisky Under $70' lists globally.
