Ganevat Cuvée Julien Chardonnay

Jura, France
One of Jura's landmark Chardonnay expressions — the ouillé (non-oxidative) style from old-vine Chardonnay on the Côtes du Jura blue and grey clay. Wild fermentation; aged under controlled conditions in old barrels; unfined, unfiltered. Lemon curd, white peach, hazelnut, and the characteristic Jura mineral tension from chalky-clay soils. At its best, rivals village Meursault in depth and complexity at a fraction of the price. One of France's greatest undervalued white wines.

Ganevat Chardonnay's mineral precision and hazelnut-lemon character pairs magnificently with morel mushrooms — the earthy, forested depth of Morchella mirrors the wine's chalky mineral while Jura cream provides the textural richness to match the Chardonnay's weight and complexity.
