Gravner Ribolla Gialla Collio DOC

Collio DOC, Italy
Gravner's Ribolla Gialla from Collio DOC, one of the world's most distinctive and original wines — an extended skin-contact white fermented and aged in Georgian terracotta amphora (qvevri) for 6-7 months before extended aging in large Slavonian oak casks and years of bottle aging. The wine's amber colour, profound tannin structure, and extraordinary complexity challenge every conventional notion of white wine. Flavours of dried apricot, beeswax, nuts, amber, and earth combine with a savoury, almost oxidative complexity that is unlike anything in Italian wine. A world wine monument and the template for the global orange wine movement.
