Single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Venica & Venica's Ronco delle Cime site in the Collio DOC, Friuli. The Collio's ponca soils — alternating marl and sandstone layers — produce Sauvignon of a distinctive Italian character: more mineral and less herbaceous than Sancerre or New Zealand, with the variety's characteristic grapefruit and elderflower aromatics given a distinctive textural quality and savoury mineral finish by the region's unique soil. A benchmark for northern Italian Sauvignon Blanc and the Collio appellation.
