Côte de Nuits-Villages AOC

Côte de Nuits-Villages AOC occupies the northern and southern extremities of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, encompassing the villages of Fixin, Brochon and Corgoloin in the north, and Prémeaux-Prissey and Prissey in the south. It functions as the communal appellation for villages that fall outside the main Côte de Nuits communal designations. Red wines from Pinot Noir dominate, with white wines also permitted. The appellation offers genuine Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir character — earthy minerality, dark cherry, iron, forest floor — at significantly more accessible prices than the famous communal appellations immediately to the north and south. The best growers produce wines that rival their more celebrated neighbours and represent outstanding Burgundy value.
