Vougeot

Dominated by the 50-hectare Clos de Vougeot — over 80 different owners, wildly inconsistent quality. Best parcels are in the upper third of the slope. Established by Cistercian monks in the 14th century; the château is headquarters of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin.
