Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG
Sangiovese (called Prugnolo Gentile locally) from the hilltop town of Montepulciano. Between Brunello and Chianti Classico in weight. Minimum 2 years ageing (3 for Riserva). Note: the town of Montepulciano should never be confused with the Abruzzo grape Montepulciano d'Abruzzo — entirely different variety, different region.
