Prosecco DOC / DOCG

Glera grape from hills northeast of Venice. Two quality tiers: Prosecco DOC (broad zone; Charmat/tank method; fresh, immediate) and Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG (original hillside zone; Rive single-vineyard designation; Cartizze 107-hectare Grand Cru). Prosecco Col Fondo (ancestral method, naturally cloudy) is the artisan alternative. Prosecco now surpasses Champagne in global volume.
