Kamptal
Kamptal DAC (Districtus Austriae Controllatus) covers the Kamp river valley north of Krems. Primary variety: Grüner Veltliner and Riesling from Zöbinger Heiligenstein — a 350m volcanic rhyolite outcrop that is one of Austria's most distinctive single vineyard sites. Bründlmayer is the reference estate — their Lamm Riesling GV and Zöbinger Heiligenstein Riesling achieve Wachau Smaragd levels of concentration with slightly more aromatic openness. The loess-dominated valley floor versus the rocky upper slopes creates significant quality stratification.
