Australia — wine

Eden Valley

Eden Valley is one of Australia's most important cool-climate wine regions, situated in the Mount Lofty Ranges east of the Barossa Valley in South Australia at elevations of 400-600m. The high elevation significantly cools the growing season compared to the adjacent Barossa Valley floor, making Eden Valley particularly suited to Riesling and cool-climate Shiraz. The Eden Valley's Riesling is considered Australia's finest and most age-worthy, developing extraordinary petrol, lime, and mineral character over decades. The High Eden sub-zone at the highest elevations is a distinct GI for the most cool-climate expressions.
