Valpolicella

The Veneto's most important red wine appellation in the hills northwest of Verona, producing Valpolicella from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes in multiple styles: the light, fresh DOC Classico; the dried-grape Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG (one of Italy's greatest red wines); the semi-sweet Recioto; and the rich Ripasso method (re-fermented on Amarone skins). The appellation's range from light luncheon wine to the world's most powerful dry red is unique.
