Savoie

France's alpine wine region producing intensely mineral, refreshing whites from indigenous Jacquère, Altesse (Roussette), and Chasselas from lakeside and mountain terroir at 200-600m altitude in the Savoie and Haute-Savoie departments. The wines of Savoie — electric, low-alcohol, and distinctly alpine — are the ideal partner for the region's famous raclette, fondue, and charcuterie traditions. Mondeuse, Savoie's red variety, produces a distinctive peppery, tannic wine unique to the alpine environment.
