Heathcote

Central Victoria's most distinctive wine region at 150-300m altitude on the 550-million-year-old Cambrian-era volcanic Greenstone (metabasalt) and Silurian limestone soils that produce Shiraz of extraordinary distinctiveness. The Cambrian soils — among the world's oldest wine-growing soils — give Heathcote Shiraz a unique combination of dark plum intensity, ironstone minerality, and spice quite unlike Barossa or McLaren Vale expressions.
