Ribeiro

Galicia's oldest wine DO in the Miño and Avia river valleys, producing aromatic, mineral whites from the indigenous Treixadura, Godello, and Albariño varieties on granite and schist soils. Ribeiro whites — often more complex and less international in style than Rías Baixas Albariño — express the Galician coast's Atlantic influence with greater textural weight and indigenous character. The red variety Mencía produces lighter, floral wines of excellent food-pairing ability.
