Paso Robles

California's most dynamic and rapidly evolving wine region in the Central Coast of San Luis Obispo County, producing outstanding Rhône-style wines (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne, Viognier), powerful Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon from diverse calcareous limestone, clay, and sandy soils. The region's extreme diurnal temperature variation (40°F swings between day and night) creates wines of remarkable freshness despite the warm growing season. The 11 sub-AVAs include the cooler Templeton Gap and the calcareous limestone Willow Creek District.
