Greece's highest altitude wine appellation — an extinct volcanic plateau in the Arcadian Mountains of the central Peloponnese at 600–650m elevation, where the indigenous Moschofilero grape produces some of Greece's most distinctive and aromatic dry whites. Moschofilero is one of the wine world's most individual varieties: pink-skinned (producing a faintly pink tinge in white wine), intensely perfumed with rose petal, violet, citrus, and spice — with a bone-dry, high-acidity structure that makes it uniquely food-friendly. The altitude provides remarkable freshness rarely found in Greek whites.
