Germany — wine

Württemberg

Germany's largest red wine region by volume and one of the country's most culinarily-integrated wine zones, centred on Stuttgart and the Neckar Valley. Württemberg is home to Germany's most consumed red wine grape — Trollinger — as well as Lemberger (Blaufrankisch), Spätburgunder, and Schwarzriesling. The wines are typically lighter, fresher, and more food-friendly than Baden's more powerful Pinots, reflecting the region's deeply embedded tavern (Besenwirtschaft) culture.
