Bergerac

The Bordeaux-adjacent wine region of the Dordogne, producing wines from Bordeaux's classic varieties at more accessible prices. Bergerac's best estates — particularly in Monbazillac for sweet wine and Pecharmant for structured reds — match or exceed many classified Bordeaux growths in quality. The region is also Semillon's second great home after Sauternes, producing both dry and sweet versions of extraordinary character.
