Rasteau is one of the Southern Rhône's smaller village appellations elevated to its own AOC in 2010, producing robust Grenache-dominant red wines from clay and limestone soils on the north bank of the Ouvèze. The village also produces the unique Rasteau Vin Doux Naturel — a Grenache-based naturally sweet wine that can be oxidative (rancio) in style, aged for years in wood.
