Spain — wine

Ribera Sacra

Ribera Sacra ('Sacred Riverbank') is one of Spain's most dramatic wine regions, carved into the steep schist terraces of the Sil and Miño river canyons in Galicia. Mencía grape produces wines of haunting elegance — light in colour but complex in aroma, with red cherry, wild herbs, floral lift, and mineral precision from the slate soils. The heroic viticulture on near-vertical slopes has attracted comparisons to the Mosel and Northern Rhône.
