A cool, windswept AVA straddling the southern ends of Napa and Sonoma counties at the northern tip of San Francisco Bay. The consistent fog and breeze from San Pablo Bay creates California's coolest growing conditions — ideal for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and sparkling wine. Carneros is the source of base wines for California's finest sparkling programs (Domaine Carneros/Taittinger, Domaine Chandon) and produces some of the state's most elegant still Pinot Noir.
