Nemea PDO

The most important red wine appellation in Greece, in the Peloponnese south of Corinth. Home of Agiorgitiko (St George) grape, producing wines from luscious, ripe mid-range reds to serious, age-worthy Grand Reserve bottlings. Soils of clay and limestone; altitude varies from 250m (valley floor) to 800m (Ancient Nemea). Higher altitude sites produce structured, tannic reds with dark fruit and spice.
