Costers del Segre DO

Continental Catalan appellation in the Lleida province, centred on the Segre river and its irrigation canals. A widely dispersed appellation with six sub-zones; most famous for Raimat estate and its pioneering use of international varieties alongside indigenous grapes. Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Garnacha all thrive here in a hot dry climate moderated by altitude and cold nights.
