Egri Bikavér — Bull's Blood of Eger — is Hungary's most internationally recognised red wine, a multi-variety blend from the volcanic hills of Eger in northern Hungary. The historic blend, led by Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch) with up to eight other varieties, produces wines of considerable depth and character that are finding renewed international respect after decades of bulk production during the communist era.
