Germany — wine

Rheingau QbA

The Rheingau occupies a unique east-west oriented stretch of the Rhine where south-facing slopes capture maximum sunshine. Riesling dominates on quartzite and slate soils, producing wines of greater power and body than Mosel — more structured, less delicate, but capable of extraordinary complexity and longevity. Hochheim, Rüdesheim, and the famous Schloss Johannisberg give the region its prestige.
