Serbia Fruška Gora

Serbia's most prestigious wine region, located on the Fruška Gora mountain range — an isolated ridge rising above the Pannonian Plain in Vojvodina, northern Serbia. The 70km-long mountain provides diverse mesoclimates and a range of soils from loess to clay-limestone that produce Serbia's finest whites from indigenous Tamjanika (Muscat Blanc), Riesling, and Chardonnay, alongside promising reds from Prokupac (Serbia's signature indigenous grape), Cabernet, and Merlot. Serbian wine is one of the Balkans' best-kept secrets — consistently high quality at prices that haven't yet caught up with the quality.
