Greece — wine

Lemnos PDO

The Greek island of Lemnos in the northern Aegean produces one of Greece's most distinctive wines from the Muscat of Alexandria (Moschato Lemnos) grape — a lusciously aromatic dry and sweet white that has been prized since antiquity. The island's volcanic soils, strong Aegean winds, and intense summer sun concentrate the Muscat aromatics to extraordinary intensity. Lemnos PDO covers both dry Muscat of extraordinary floral perfume and naturally sweet Muscat wines of profound concentration. The island is also notable for its Limnio grape — one of ancient Greece's most historically documented varieties.
