India — wine

India Nandi Hills Wine Region

India's second major wine region, located in the Nandi Hills north of Bangalore, Karnataka, at 900–2,000 meters elevation. The altitude moderates the tropical climate to produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier of genuine international quality. Grover Zampa — the Indian wine producer with the highest international profile — produces its celebrated La Réserve blend from Nandi Hills vineyards that have been consulted by Michel Rolland and earned gold medals at international competitions. The region represents India's potential for premium wine beyond Nashik.
