Catalonia's inland highland DO north of Barcelona, where cool continental conditions and the indigenous Picapoll variety create distinctive white wines. Pla de Bages is one of Spain's smallest DOs, positioned between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean at 300-600m altitude.
