Calatayud DO

Aragon's extreme wine DO in the Jalón river valley at 600–1,000 metres altitude, producing some of Europe's finest old-vine Garnacha (Grenache) on slate, limestone, and sandstone soils. The continental climate — scorching summers and sub-zero winters — combined with extreme altitude yields naturally low-alcohol, concentrated Garnacha of remarkable freshness. Pre-phylloxera ungrafted vines up to 120 years old deliver Calatayud's most compelling and internationally undervalued wine.
