Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey
About this product
Named for the year Nearest Green's son George Green became master distiller of the Lynchburg, Tennessee distillery after his father. The 1884 is Uncle Nearest's signature expression — a blend of single barrels selected by Victoria Eady Butler (Nearest Green's great-great-granddaughter, now Uncle Nearest's master blender). The whiskey is Tennessee-style: Lincoln County Process charcoal filtering before barrel ageing, producing a characteristically smooth, lighter Tennessee expression. This is a culturally significant spirit — drinking it is an act of acknowledgment.

pork
The maple-sweet character of Uncle Nearest 1884 bridges directly to hickory-smoked pork's natural sweetness. The Lincoln County Process produces a softness that prevents the whiskey from competing with smoke. The apple cider vinegar in the mop mirrors the fruit notes in the whiskey.

The vanilla and caramelised banana notes in Southern banana pudding create a complementary resonance with Uncle Nearest's vanilla-maple profile. The Lincoln County Process smoothness means the whiskey sits alongside the dessert rather than competing with it.
