Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Clos Windsbuhl

Alsace, France
Clos Windsbuhl is Zind-Humbrecht's monopole in Hunawihr, grown on muschelkalk (fossilised shell limestone) soils that produce a unique saline, oyster-mineral Riesling. The wine has extraordinary tension and mineral depth, alternating between bone dry and lightly off-dry depending on vintage conditions. A benchmark for the saline-mineral style of Alsatian Riesling.

Clos Windsbuhl's ginger-mineral note creates perfect affinity with langoustine's subtle sweetness. Cream sauce gives the wine's density something to rest against. Tarragon bridges the herbal register.
