Description
The Bugis people of South Sulawesi are historically Southeast Asia's greatest seafarers — their pinisi schooners traded throughout the archipelago and beyond. Bugis cuisine reflects this maritime tradition: seafood-dominated, rice-focused (the Bugis heartland around Bone is one of Sulawesi's major rice-growing areas), and featuring a distinctive use of coconut and fish.
