Sambal goreng is not a single sambal — it is a COOKING METHOD that applies fried sambal to various proteins and vegetables. The technique: bumbu merah (chilli, shallot, garlic) is fried in oil until the oil separates, then a protein or vegetable is added and stir-fried in the sambal.
