Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock

Bavaria — Reinheitsgebot, Germany
One of Germany's most awarded beers — Ayinger's Doppelbock with the iconic miniature goat hanging from each bottle (a nod to the Latin 'bock' = goat). Deep mahogany; rich malt, roasted chocolate, caramel, licorice, and prune with remarkable smoothness at 6.7% ABV. Cold-lagered for an extended period under Reinheitsgebot. One of the benchmark Doppelbocks alongside Paulaner Salvator — more approachable and widely distributed internationally.

Ayinger Celebrator's Doppelbock richness pairs naturally with gamey wild boar — the beer used in the braising sauce creates a natural bridge, while the mushroom amplifies the beer's earthy depth. The wine-like complexity of an aged Doppelbock serves where a Burgundy might.
