Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese

Nahe, Germany
Germany's most sought-after Nahe wine — a 0.5-hectare monopole on quartzite-volcanic rock above the Nahe river at Oberhausen, planted with vines averaging 90+ years. The Brücke ('bridge') site was identified by Helmut Dönnhoff as the Nahe's greatest terroir expression: unlike the Mosel's pure slate mineral intensity, Brücke adds exotic stone fruit (mango, papaya alongside peach), a floral lift unique to the site's volcanic-quartzite composition, and a stony, saline finish that lengthens for 30+ seconds. At Spätlese level this is a wine of extraordinary complexity; the Auslese is one of Germany's rarest and most sought-after bottles.
