Quintarelli Giuseppe

The reputation — the story that sells at the table

Quintarelli is universally considered the definitive Amarone producer — the reference point against which all others are measured. The 1988, 1990, 1995, and 2003 vintages have received multiple 100-point scores. Wine Spectator ranked Quintarelli Amarone 1988 as one of the 10 greatest wines ever made. Production is deliberately tiny.

Practice
The legendary Giuseppe Quintarelli farmed his Monte Ca' Paletta estate near Negrar using techniques unchanged since the 1950s — including drying grapes for 4–5 months (longer than any other producer) and aging wines for 7–15 years before release. His son-in-law Giampaolo Farina continues the tradition. The wines are among the longest-lived reds produced anywhere on earth.
