The reference producer for Volnay — the d'Angerville family has farmed the village's finest Premier Crus (Champans, Caillerets, Clos des Ducs) since the 1920s. Guillaume d'Angerville has made the estate one of Burgundy's most sought-after, introducing biodynamic farming in 2014 while maintaining his grandfather's tradition of transparent, mineral winemaking. The Clos des Ducs (monopole) is considered the finest wine in Volnay.

Marquis d'Angerville is consistently rated among Burgundy's top 10 red wine producers — the Clos des Ducs Volnay monopole has received 97-100 points from Allen Meadows, Wine Advocate, and Wine Spectator. Jancis Robinson described the 2019 Clos des Ducs as 'one of the most beautiful Pinot Noirs I have ever tasted'. The estate's combination of Premier Cru holdings and biodynamic farming produces wines of exceptional purity.
