Jancis Robinson described the 2019 Clos des Ducs as 'one of the most beautiful Pinot Noirs I have ever tasted'. The estate's combination of Premier Cru holdings and biodynamic farming produces wines of exceptional purity.

The reference producer for Volnay — the d'Angerville family has farmed the village's finest Premier Crus (Champans, Caillerets, Clos des Ducs) since the 1920s. Guillaume d'Angerville has made the estate one of Burgundy's most sought-after, introducing biodynamic farming in 2014 while maintaining his grandfather's tradition of transparent, mineral winemaking. The Clos des Ducs (monopole) is considered the finest wine in Volnay.
