Domaine Bruno Colin

Burgundy, France
Hand-harvested fruit fermented on fine lees in French oak with restrained new-wood influence. Whites express mineral precision and chalky tension through pneumatic pressing; reds achieve silken structure via full destemming and cold maceration. Minimal intervention allows each terroir's limestone-clay character to speak with crystalline clarity.
Bruno Colin inherited his vineyard holdings from his father Michel Colin-Deléger, a third-generation vigneron on the Côte de Beaune, upon the family property's division in 2003. Establishing his own domaine with first vintage 2004, Colin has built a reputation as a key contemporary figure in Chassagne-Montrachet, working eight hectares split across thirty micro-parcels in five communes with the aim of expressing the pure terroir of limestone-rich Côte de Beaune.
AllocationFounding year discrepancy: most sources cite 2003 as formal estate creation with 2004 first vintage. Production volume cited as 'Annual Production: 5,000' in Kermit Lynch PDF (circa 2018), but Brunswick Fine Wines cites 70,000 bottles/year—latter appears inflated given 8-hectare holdings and micro-parcel fragmentation; using 70,000 as conservative upper estimate. Farming practice stated as 'lutte raisonnée' in Kermit PDF but later sources emphasize 'organic viticulture'—classified as organic_practicing per lack of organic certification body documentation. No Japanese importer found despite extensive distribution in UK/US. Website URL from Kermit Lynch PDF source, not directly verified as live. Hectare figures vary slightly (8.0, 8.3, 8.55, 8.75, 9.0) across sources; using 8.75 as median-high. Appellation count cited as 19-22 wines across sources—reflects fragmented parcel holdings rather than formal multi-appellation focus. | Importer overflow captured (importer_other): 'Empire Distributors (USA)'
