Domaine Génot-Boulanger

Burgundy, France
Indigenous yeast fermentation in barrel with no lees stirring; whites aged 12 months in oak then 6 months in tank; reds fermented with minimal intervention, then aged 12 months in barrels followed by 6 months in tank. Minimal sulfur, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
In 1974, Charles-Henri Génot and his wife Marie, née Boulanger, left their pharmaceutical practice in Paris to establish an estate in Meursault at the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Over 25 years, they assembled vineyards spanning 30 appellations across the golden slope and into the Côte Chalonnaise—one of Burgundy's rare assemblages of diverse terroirs under single family stewardship.
AllocationFourth generation control confirmed: Aude Lavollée (founder's great-granddaughter) and husband Guillaume joined 2008, took full control post-2008. Succession from Charles-Henri & Marie → François Delaby (grandson, inherited 1998) → Aude & Guillaume (2008+). Organic certification: AB label since 2018 vintage after 3 years official conversion; biodynamic practices mentioned but not formally certified. Current vineyard total varies slightly between sources (22 hectares stated consistently; one source mentions 27.54 hectares with 92 plots and 32 appellations). Production volume not publicly stated. US importer identified as Grand Cru Selections via direct website presence. Kellogg Wine Selections handles NC distribution. Regional importer network confirmed for Japan, UK, and multiple EU countries via Bourgogne Wine Bureau registry. Signature winemaking approach: minimal intervention philosophy evident in barrel fermentation w/ indigenous yeasts, no lees stirring, unfined/unfiltered final product, and restricted sulfur use. | Importer overflow captured (importer_other): 'Kellogg Selections (North Carolina distributor)' | Importer overflow captured (importer_other): 'Vineyard Road (Wine Import and Distributor)'
