Domaine Génot-Boulanger
Burgundy, France
Philosophy
Indigenous yeast fermentation in barrel with no lees stirring; whites aged 12 months in oak then 6 months in tank; reds fermented with minimal intervention, then aged 12 months in barrels followed by 6 months in tank. Minimal sulfur, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Reputation
In 1974, Charles-Henri Génot and his wife Marie, née Boulanger, left their pharmaceutical practice in Paris to establish an estate in Meursault at the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Over 25 years, they assembled vineyards spanning 30 appellations across the golden slope and into the Côte Chalonnaise—one of Burgundy's rare assemblages of diverse terroirs under single family stewardship.
