Long Meadow Ranch
Napa Valley, United States
Philosophy
Restrained, food-friendly wines emphasizing vivid acidity and mineral precision across three distinct terroirs. The house favours elegant balance and moderate alcohol over extracted ripe fruit, a philosophy rooted in sustainable integration of vineyard with orchard, pasture and heirloom garden.
Reputation
Long Meadow Ranch occupies ground first granted by President Ulysses S. Grant to Civil War veteran E.J. Church in 1872, the vineyards abandoned through Prohibition until the Hall family acquired and revived the 650-acre Mayacamas estate in 1989. From its inception, the property has embodied a philosophy of integrated, organic stewardship rare in American viticulture, the family pioneering what they term 'Full Circle Farming'—each element of ranch, pasture, orchard and vineyard sustaining the others in ecological reciprocity.
