Reputation

Pierre-Nicolas Perrier, a masterful vintner and botanist, and Rose-Adélaïde Jouët, a cultured young woman from a Norman merchant family, married in 1810 and founded Maison Perrier-Jouët in Épernay one year later from their shared desire to create a Champagne House with a difference. They began cultivating vines and quickly realized the potential for Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs.

AllocationPerrier-Jouët is a large, historic negoce house now owned by Pernod Ricard (acquired 2005 via Allied Domecq). Succeeded as family business in 1959 when Gallice family sold to G.H. Mumm.
