The Mascot
Napa Valley, United States
Philosophy
Single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from young vines aged five years prior to release. Crafted from fruit between six and twelve years of age, drawn from Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory properties. Expression of vigor tempered by approachability—dark fruit, powdery tannins, built for patient aging.
Reputation
The Mascot emerged in 2008 as Will Harlan's personal project, a family wine initially unnamed and unlabeled, meant only for the table. Born from younger vines of his family's three Napa Valley estates—Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory—it gained commercial identity as demand from close friends warranted bottling.
