The reputation — the story that sells at the table
Kamptal's reference estate — Heiligenstein Riesling is one of Austria's three or four greatest wines. Widely available through Austrian/European importers in North America.
Practice
Willi Bründlmayer is Kamptal's most internationally visible producer — 80 hectares across Zöbing, Langenlois, Kammern, and the iconic Zöbinger Heiligenstein. The Heiligenstein is a 350-million-year-old rhyolite volcanic outcrop — one of Austria's most distinctive geological features — producing Riesling of extraordinary mineral depth. Bründlmayer was an early advocate for dry Grüner Veltliner as a serious ageing wine; his Lamm GV (from Loess and primary rock soils above Langenlois) is the Kamptal GV benchmark. Biodynamic principles applied estate-wide since 2010.
